The Paradoxical Kinetics

Achile Alexandre Souqués, one of the most famous French neurologists of the beginnings of the twentieth century, described a property in patients affected by Parkinson Disease which he called paradoxal kinetics (Kinesie paradoxale). By means of this property the patients suddenly were able to move, also run, even when presenting severe alterations in movement, being these changes observed in the speech as well. These changes were generally triggered due to emotional stimuli.
Our program has taken this basis as a hypothesis for improving motility and the quality of life of the patient with Parkinson Disease, thus developing a methodology with the capacity of studying and better understanding these principles, with the intention of improving them and applying them with possibilities of transformation.
